What up sports fans? Monday night was an exciting one in the NBA. Let me set the stage for you! It’s Madison Square Garden, the Mecca of all sports arenas. The Los Angeles Lakers, current Western Conference Champs, were in town to face the New York Knicks.  Earlier in the day, the Lakers received some discouraging news. The team learned that they will be without the services of their star center Andrew Bynum for 8 to 12 weeks, due to a torn MCL in his right knee. Bynum was injured in Saturday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies when Kobe Bryant ran into him. It was the same time a season ago that Bynum injured his left knee; ironically against the Grizzlies. That injury cost Bynum his season. By the way, Bryant has a new add online about ankle insurance…  http://www.nike.com/nikeos/p/nikebasketball/en_US/notmybrokenankles, where he is the CEO. Hell Kobe, do knee injuries qualify?

Playing at the Garden is a ball player’s dream and when you have a super star like Bryant, it only adds to the excitement. I don’t know what Bryant was thinking prior to the game, but I know he was pissed. When Bryant scored 34 points in the first half on that fateful night, someone asked me who he was upset with. My response, himself! He’s responsible for Bynum’s knee injury and someone has to pay for it on the court. His victim, the New York Knicks!  Bryant baked them for 61 points, which broke Michael Jordan’s 55 points for the most points scored by a Knick opponent, and then Knick Bernard King’s 60 points, for most points period at the Garden. What makes it more impressive is that it took Kobe aka Black Mamba aka KB24 aka Mr. 81 points, 37 minutes to do it.

Now for all of you who don’t think KB24 is the best player in the league, you’re a hater. Some will say Lebron James, others will say Dwayne Wade. Stop it! Stop it right now! Holla at me when Mr. James or Mr. Wade wins more than 3 championships, make the All-Star team more than 12 times, make the All-NBA team more than 10 times consecutively, All-NBA Defensive team over nine times successively, League MVP at least once and drop more than 81 points in a game. Please do!!!
